Answers

1. What is Duchess?
   Duchess Easy Sheet Music Library is designed to assist orchestras, bands, and other musical groups in managing their musical libraries. Duchess allows the librarian to keep an accurate list of all music owned by the group, and track what parts are lent to whom.
    

2. Can I get a trial version of Duchess?
   Yes.  We market Duchess through ShareIt.  You may download a 60 day trial version of either the Librarian or Solo editions.  If you like, you can purchase a license. 
    

3. What are the system requirements?
   You need Windows 2000 Second Edition or greater, RAM of 64MB (Win2000) or 128MB (XP), 25MB of available hard disk space, and a 90MHz Pentium or higher.
    

4. How do I put my group's name on the main screen?
   Open the INI file and change the "BannerTitle" property from "Your Music Library" to the actual name of your group.
    

5. I don't want to push the "Edit" button every time I need to edit a record.  How do I change this?
   Open the INI file and change the "AutoEdit" property to "True".
    

6. How do I log in?
   Log in to Duchess as "administrator". The password is "duchess".  PLEASE BE SURE TO CHANGE THIS PASSWORD. As administrator, you can create new accounts. A detailed description of account creation is given in the help file. Go to the Help menu on the main window. 
    

7. I installed the application as the administrator, and now I can't run it under other accounts.
   Log in to your computer as the administrator. Open a Windows Explorer window or double click on "My Computer".  Navigate to "C:\Program Files\MSC\DuchessESML\Databases".  Right click on the "Databases" folder and choose "Properties".  Go the tab labeled "Security".  To the top panel, add the other accounts that you wish to have access to Duchess.  Make sure that in the lower panel, those accounts have the "Full Control" check box checked.
